FLAXMORE VINEYARDS

Our wines are crafted from handpicked vines on Flaxmore’s north-facing slopes in the Moutere hills near Nelson. Since planting the vines in 2008, our approach has been an absolute focus on vineyard quality.

We launched the Flaxmore label in 2018 with a single vineyard series of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Rosé. Each following vintage has been very well received, gaining excellent reviews, and we have now added our 2020 Chardonnay to the list, which is becoming a best-seller, with 5-star reviews.

The combination of clay-gravels, climate & attention to detail has resulted in fine, balanced wines which fully express the vineyard’s special character: elegant fruit notes with a complex minerality.

You are welcome to visit our tasting room and art gallery which overlook the vineyard. Here, you will have the chance to meet us, taste our wines, talk about growing and making wine and even have a beautiful walk around the vineyard, taking in the stunning views across the Moutere valley to the majestic Kahurangi mountain range beyond.
